Raised cup stitch
I made a few raised cup stitches with perle 5 today. This stitch reminds me of the spiral trellis stitch, but that one works clockwise. I started with the small red one in the upper left corner. The other red one has a second round added. The other 2 are made of a small and a bigger raised cup stitch. For the big one I made 5 large straight stitches instead of the triangle. I decorated them with a few beads.
This stitch is part of the Take A Stitch Tuesday challenge at Pintangle.

Collaborative zentangle
Tricia has been my swap partner several times and last time she surprised me with a collaborative zentangle. I liked the idea very much, so I sent her one too! Her zentangle is 5½ x 6½ inch (about 14 x 17 cm), mine is 4 x 4 inch (about 10 x 10 cm).
Today I finished Tricia’s zentangle. I used my Sakura Pigma micron pens in 3 and 5 mm. It was fun to work on, thank you Tricia!

Sorbello stitch
This is my Sorbello stitch sampler. I used perle 5 for it, except for the white cross stitches in the middle, that’s an acrylic yarn. The last blue row is a Palestrina stitch. There’s a large picture of my sampler at my Flickr-page.

Bullion buttonhole
I had a lot of fun with the bullion buttonhole! I found some milliners needles and it was a pleasure to use them. What a difference does a needle make! First I made a simple purple row with perle 5 with 2 corners in it. In the corners I made 3 stitches.
My next row is done with a variegated cotton thread. I alternated the direction of the stitches.
I also made a square with 4 bullion buttonhole stitches in perle 5.
Then I didn’t had time to stitch for a few days, but yesterday the stitching bug bit me! I made a lot of bullion buttonhole stitches with perle 5 and this variation is one of them. I made a combination of the crossed buttonhole stitch and the bullion buttonhole. The stitches are much longer (9-12 wraps).
I decorated my sampler with some French knots and I added a knotted loop stitch to my first purple row at the top left corner. There is a big picture of my sampler on my Flickr-page.
This stitch is part of the Take A Stitch Tuesday challenge at Pintangle.

Cloud Filling owl
I finished my cloud filling sampler, but this time I didn’t make different samples. I used the filling for Spinjenny’s owl. I wanted to use this pattern for a long time and this was the perfect stitch! The outlines are whipped backstitches with 2 threads of stranded DMC. I also used it for the grids of the fillings, but I made a different grid for each part of the pattern. For the lacing of the owl and the branch I used perle 5, the other lacing is done with 2 threads of stranded DMC. I made 3 detached chain stitches in black perle 5 for each claw. For the beak I used a padded satin stitch with 2 threads of stranded DMC. This picture is only a part of my sampler. You can see my complete sampler at my Flickr-page.
This stitch is part of the Take A Stitch Tuesday challenge at Pintangle.

Mushroom
I’m doing a series of embroidered ATC swaps and the second stitch was the French knot. The mushroom is a design from Mollie Johansen. I used 2 threads of stranded DMC color variations 4128 to make the French knots and the stem stitches on the mushroom. For the moss I used 3 threads of stranded DMC color variations 4065. I added a few pistil stitches at the left side.
There’s a larger picture of this ATC on my Flickr-page.

Cloud Filling
I made the cloud filling on a pink polka dot fabric. I had trouble finding the right thread in my stash, but last month I received some lovely mocha floss in a swap. That was just perfect, it's called Six Strand Sweet Hand-dyed by Jessica Burr. I used 2 threads of it for the grid in running stitches instead of straight stitches. For the lacing I used DMC ecru broder special. The dots of the fabric are in every other square. I like it! This picture is sneak peek of a project I’m working on, I will show the rest next week.

Raised herringbone band again
My sampler for the raised herringbone band is finished. This first row is done in perle 5 and I made the satin stitches bigger every 12 stitches.
The satin stitches for this row are done with 3 threads of purple stranded Anchor. The ecru is DMC broder special. I decorated this row with some French knots between the stitches.
This last experiment is done in perle 5. I made rectangles with red satin stitches.
I like the look of this stitch, but it’s not my cup of tea! You can find some great examples in the Take A Stitch Tuesday-group. If you want to see my complete sampler, just take a look at my Flickr-page.
