Pleated fabric ATC's
There was only one rule for this swap: the fabric had to be pleated. The ATC on the left is made by Hannah. There’s a texture in the fabric, that doesn’t show in the picture. But it adds a lot of movement to the ATC. The brown one is made by Tricia. She used the same fabric she had sent me in a previous swap. I used it in the centre of my 8 x 8 inch class block! She also sent me those cute fireflies with glow in the dark paint on them.
I used some vintage fabrics that I received in a previous swap for my ATC's. I ironed the folds in it and decorated it with embroidery; straight stitches on the purple one for Tricia and French knots on the blue one for Hannah. I sewed some fantasy knitting yarn on the edges.

Snail in the garden
This crazy ornament was a birthday present for a quilting friend. It’s also the result of the first 5 weeks of Sharon’s class ‘Encrusted crazy quilting’. I used a few TAST stitches in this piece: raised cup stitch flowers, knotted loop stitches and Italian knotted border stitch. I attached the braid with small bugle beads.
There’s a bigger picture of this piece on my Flickr-page.

Encrusted Crazy Quilting 5
Just a quick update of my progress on the 8 x 8 inch block I made for Sharon’s class. I changed a few seams I already started working on.
This is the upper right corner of my block.

Italian knotted border stitch
I had no time to do some embroidery on my TAST sampler, but I made the Italian knotted border stitch on a crazy piece I’m working on. I made 2 opposite shifted rows with 2 threads of stranded DMC color variations. Next week I will show the finished piece!
This stitch is part of the Take A Stitch Tuesday challenge at Pintangle.

Lace ATC's
These are the lovely ATC’s I received for this swap. Rachel used printable iron-on transfer paper for the image.
The only rule in this swap was to use a piece of lace on a fabric ATC. The background of my ATC’s is denim. I put some satin ribbon over the edges of the lace and attached it with French knots. For the edge of my ATC’s I used a fantasy knitting yarn.

Encrusted Crazy Quilting 3
A quick update on my progress in this class. This braid is on my 10 x 10 inch block. I made some detached chain stitches and French knots.
Yesterday I started with silk ribbon embroidery on my 8 x 8 inch block. It was the first time I tried it and I like it! Now it’s time to read the next lesson.

Beezzz
Last week I made another crazy ornament for a sane quilting friend. I embroidered the bee before patching the block. It’s a pattern from my book ‘Doodle-stitching’ by Aimee Ray. I’m in the third week of Sharon’s class ‘Encrusted crazy quilting’ and this ornament is the first CQ I finished. I’m very happy with the change in my style! I used a few TAST-stitches in this piece: raised cup stitch flowers, fancy hem stitch on the lace and a buttonholed herringbone above the embroidered bee. The last one is a variation, I used half herringbone stitch, half Cretan stitch instead of a herringbone stitch.
This is a detail of the edge. I attached organza ribbon with French knots.

Stitchery
I made 2 stitchery blocks (6 x 6 inch) for swaps. The first block is a Christmas tree designed by Gail Pan. I made it for Carol in April. I showed the block I received here.
Last month I made a block for Glenys. She wants to make a stitchery quilt for her grandchildren, so I made Little Red Riding Hood for her. I don’t know where I found this pattern any more.

Red zentangle & Tangled turtle
The ATC’s of my last zentangle ATC swap arrived in the USA, so I can show them now. I had a few zentangle ATC’s ready to sent. I picked a red one for Beth, because that’s her favorite color. I used a gel pen for it.
Claudia was my swap partner for the third time and I had no matching zentangle ATC for her. I decided to make a tangled turtle for her, because she likes those. I drew this one with my Sakura pigma micron pens after I finished my collaborative zentangle.
I found a picture of a turtle quilt made by Dijanne Cevaal in one of my older quilt magazines. I used one of those drawings as a template for my turtle.

Raised cup stitch again
I didn’t touch my embroidery for almost a week! But today I made some time to finish my raised cup stitch sampler. First I added some purple and blue flowers next to the red and yellow one’s I already made with perle 5. Shirley added a lot of beads to the center of her flowers and that reminded me of the drizzle stitch. So I made some drizzle stitches in my flowers and then I decorated them with woven picot leaves.
My next raised cup flower is a daffodil. I made 2 rounds of stitches with perle 5 with a small French knot inside. For the petals I used the woven picot again.
I wanted to try a different yarn too, so I used an acrylic thread for these flowers.
After all those flowers I wanted to do something different. I used the raised cup stitch for the wheels of a car with a silver bead inside. The car is done with a padded satin stitch. My complete sampler is on my Flickr-page.
This stitch is part of the Take A Stitch Tuesday challenge at Pintangle.
