This is the autumn dotee I made for the same swap I wrote about yesterday. I made it for Jean in Australia. I used fabric with autumn leaves and leave beads. Her face is printed on transfer paper and then ironed on fabric (and on the cover of my ironing-board!!). I did some needle turning appliqué to attach her face to her body. For her hair I used the same fluffy yarn as for Miramar, one of my first dotees. But this time I crocheted a wig and sewed it on her head.

  1. Hi and thanks for the comment and the visit! ^___^ I shall search around the house to find something suitable, I still have some time!
Your blog is very original. This doll here too, I love it. And also I think it's very cool how this doll is "autumn" themed, and the previous one, Miramar, is "sea" themed :D

  2. That is just so cute, is there a story behind dotee's.

  3. Thank you both for your nice comments.

Dot made the very first dotee doll, that's why they are called dotees! This is her blog:

On the left side of my blog there's a link under tutorials: Dotee doll YouTube. There you can see how they are made.

  4. She's cute! I like the way you made her face. Did you make the transfer?

  5. Thank you Diane. I used a picture I found on the internet for the transfer. I wish I could draw, but I cannot.

  6. Thanks for your reply Annet. So, do you print from the computer onto transfer paper? And what is transfer paper? I have not done this before and it sounds as if it would be a really useful method.

  7. Diane:
Transferpaper is a sheet you can print a mirror image on. You can then transfer the image to your fabric by ironing. Every type of transferpaper has it’s own guidelines. I found a link for you here:
I hope this helps. It’s really easy to use.

  8. I love the dotee...the hair is the best!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
