It’s a Rainbow! - orange

. . . is a series of colour swaps I’m participating. For the orange swap I crocheted  circle motif #6 from the book Beyond the square Crochet Motifs by Edie Eckman.
The thread is DMC Special dentelles #80, I used a 0,75 mm crochet hook!
For the background I used woven strips of plain and metallic origami paper.
This is the pretty ATC I received for this swap. It’s made for me by Georgia.
I enjoy these series, there will be more swaps in brown, black, gold and silver.

  1. If the Japanese only knew what you have created with their origami folding paper! It is the perfect background for the crocheted flower - the hard, sharp, flat and shiny background lifts the soft structured flower and makes it float.

    1. Thanks, Queenie! I have a lot of origami paper in my stash, I've used it the correct way for years before I discovered quilting and embroidery!

  2. orange was never a colour I took much notice in until I started quilting and now it comes close to being a favourite behind green. A lovely piece you have made here, must look out my crochet book but your motif looks a bit complicated for me

    1. This motif wasn't complicated, it's the small hook that made it a bit difficult! I have some more crochet to share in the coming period, I'm sure you will like it!
