This week I decorated 2
seams on block 5 for my Crazy White quilt.
I secured the edge of the
machine embroidered fabric with colonial knots in perle 12.
This is one of my
favourite stitch combos: herringbone and Cretan stitch. The threads are cotton
a broder and Rainbow Gallery Treasure Braid.

Lovely work! I have not combined the Herringbone and the Cretan stitches. Seeing yours did give me a few ideas.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThanks, Renee. Cretan and herringbone is such a great combo when you use different threads.
Verwijderenbeautiful, the stitches have worked so well together and I am a big fan of colonial knots so much easier to do than French ones I find
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThanks, Margaret. I chainge my preference in knotted stitches from time to time. Now I'm in a period of colonial knot stitches, but I like the French knot too.
VerwijderenLovely stitch work, the combination of herringbone and cretan work well!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThanks, Susan. Of course my Cretan herringbone row will get some pretty beads when the embroidery on my block is done!
VerwijderenLike Margaret I much prefer to do the Colonial Knot to the French one, but looking at them I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI use both from time to time, but I'm not able to tell them apart too. Just took a look at the sampler with 3 different knots I made last year:

I had to read what I wrote to tell them apart!
