Today I made some time to work on the
buttonhole stitch. I used a
blue fabric I rust dyed last year and 3 different embroidery threads: blue stranded floss, brown broder special and light blue Caron Wildflowers.

It was fun to watch the fabric change while I was stitching. The marks inside the brown buttonhole stitches are from a screw.

This is one of the 12 samplers I prepared for
TAST 2012, they are 15 x 15 cm or 6 x 6 inch. I'm just stitching on the sampler that matches the stitch for me. For the buttonhole stitch I worked on 2 different samplers. I wrote about my buttonhole border
here.
That's neat, Annet. Love your rusted fabric and the threads you've used.
ReplyDeleteI like your stitching on the rust dyed fabric.
ReplyDeleteI love rust of all sorts and this is a great idea for a sampler!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.. a river running through a southwest canyon :)
ReplyDeleteJen is right - that does look like something you might see from an airplane, flying over the southwestern US.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, so earthly.
