I continued the second block for my Crazy White quilt. First I added a little crocheted butterfly. I
used Pinguin #12 and a size 1 crochet hook. The pattern is number 84 in the
book 100 flowers to Knit and Crochet.
Then it was time to start
the beading. I started with these flower beads on the seam with up and down buttonhole
stitch, detached chain stitch and straight stitch.
I secured the edge of the
doily with seed beads.
It took me a lot of time
to add the beads to the feather stitch, but I’m very happy with the result.
And this is my second
block today. Still more beads to add!

Thank you, Diane. It's so much fun to see my block changes when I add the beads!
DeleteThose beads, and the seed beads, too, really add a lot of sparkle and shine to your white block.
ReplyDeleteYes, my block is adding some weight too!
DeleteBeautiful! Looking at your butterfly, I realized I may need to take my mom up on her offer to teach me to crochet. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Renee. My mother only taught me how to knit, she cannot crochet. But I taught my daughter knitting and crochet, which was fun for the both of us. Enjoy learning crochet, I'm looking forward to see it on your blog!
DeleteExquisite work. I falling in love with this white crazy quilted block more and more. Each and every detail is beautiful on their own. Of course, the time consuming beading on feather stitch is my favourite.
