Work In Progress Wednesday - May 28

This week I embroidered TAST on the spine of the cover for my TAST 2012 fabric book.
I used the cross stitch patterns of this lovely alphabet,
which I found in this old magazine.

  2. Old alphabetic patterns can be so charming. This one certainly is! I wonder why Cross stitch has not become a TAST stitch this time. Was it used in the previous TAST challenges?

    1. Yes, cross stitch was part of TAST 2007. I skipped it then, because I already did a lot of cross stitching. Now I think it would be nice to experiment with freestyle cross stitch!

  3. TAST looks wonderful. it is hard and interesting work for me to design words with cross stitch alphabets. This is lovely.

  5. Your lettering looks lovely. I have lots of old books and magazines too, it's funny how they often provide more inspiration than books etc aimed at modern readers.

    1. I wanted to use this alphabet for a long time, but didn't want to stitch a sampler. So I'm glad I found a good place for it now!
