TAST stitch 112 is
feathered chain stitch. TAST stands for Take A Stitch Tuesday, an embroidery
challenge at Pin Tangle.
The first time I saw this
stitch, was on an ATC I received. It inspired me to give it a try on my first Crazy Monday block. I used 2 threads of stranded floss.
The next time I used this
stitch was on block 10 of the same quilt. I used 2 threads of stranded floss
and decorated it with beads.
Last year I used this
stitch on Ritva’s block for the CQ RR at Fibre Fever. The thread is perle 5, much better for the feathered chain stitch!
My stitches are a bit different
from Sharon’s tutorial, I just used the instructions in The Embroidery Stitch Bible.
In this Stitch Bible version the spacing is tighter. Sharon's version would be useful to cq seams where you have plenty of space to add other stitches in between.

I think this one looks more a feather stitch, but I like both versions.
Verwijderenyour seams are lovely. I do want to try the other version on my sampler.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you! Yes, I want to try Sharon's version too.
Verwijderengood to see a variation of Sharon`s stitch
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI had not seen Sharon's variation before, so it will be fun to give it a try.
