Tachtig
I made this ornament for
my mother’s 80th birthday. I embroidered the seams with tied
herringbone stitch, feather stitch, up and down buttonhole stitch, French knots
and feathered chain stitch. The beads came from old pieces of jewellery from my
youngest daughter. She’s still in Cape Town and this way she kind of joined the
party.

Teesha Moore inspired cat patches
Last year I participated
in a series of swaps for Teesha Moore inspired patches. This swap was cat
themed. I used a scrap of cute cat fabric for my patch and decorated it with
running stitch, stem stitch, French knots,
a button and letter beads.
And this is the cute
patch Jenny made for me. Se used a cat selvedge and pretty beads on it! Jenny
wrote about the making of this patch here.

Top 2000 Party: day 2-7
Not long after posting my spreads for the first day of Marit’s Top 2000 Party, my computer crashed. Of
course I continued making my spreads. Now I have a new computer, so I can share them today in
this post. Clicking the photos will bring you to the song at YouTube.

Birthday card for Ritva
Ritva was the last
birthday girl in the Fibre Fever group. I trapped a few sequins between organza
and fabric. I used stacked herringbone stitch, chain stitch and crossed
buttonhole stitch to secure them. The edge of the organza is secured with cross
stitches.
