A piece of my sampler

Ritva and Miriam had the same theme for the fabric book page swap at Fibre Fever. Their theme was traditional craft, which made me think about the samplers little girls had to stitch. I visited an exhibition with lots of these old samplers back in the 80’s. The book with samplers I bought then and the borders for Randje per week were the inspiration for these samplers. The scissor came from a sampler dated 1734, the butterfly was on a sampler dated 1873.

    1. Dank je wel, Marjolein. Volgens mij kwamen die pauwen uit een oude Libelle special.

    1. Yes, they are. And it was fun to use some patterns in my samplers.

    1. Thanks, Barbara. I have a similar problem with my blog header, I cannot decide about the design I want to stitch.
