Cover for my altered book

I have a lot of leftover embroidery thread from kits and thought what to do with them.

A cover for my altered book was the answer. First I embroidered the label, there was a lot of red in this stash! My altered books always keep their title, so it’s called The secrets of karate.

And now I’m starting to fill the remaining Aida with random cross stitches.

De nieuwe wending uitdaging

There’s a quilting challenge at the Dutch Quiltersgilde. This month we had to experiment with a block with different names: Home Circle, Rolling Square, Rolling Stone.

Of course I started drawing a lot of variations. I try to change the block in a way you can still recognize the original.

My calendar reminded me to start patching the block.

And here’s the finished 6 x 6 inch block.
