This morning I made my zentangle for zentangle challenge #15 at I am the diva. I used the same idea from my studio journal as an ATC I made for the March swap at Stitchin Fingers. My swap partner sent me a message it arrived, so I can show you both. I'm also working on a small applique with the same idea, so I called my ATC Blueprint. It's stitched in perle 5, 8 and 12 in Portuguese stem stitch, closed herringbone, knotted loop stitch and straight stitches. At the edge I couched a cotton/linen knitting yarn. There's a bigger photo at my Flickr-page. I tried to translate this same idea in a zentangle. The feminine shapes where perfect for this week's challenge to use only curved lines. I made this zentangle in my A5 sketchbook, so it's bigger than the ATC.

Walking On Sunshine
I finished another collage in my studio journal. When I started it, this song was in my head. So I added the paper footsteps at the gesso. The sun is a photo of a tree-stump. I like the texture of this page.

PLOS fabric book cover
My fabric book for Sharon's PLOS class still needs a cover. I made the design in my studio journal last week and it was time to bring it to life. I used organza and had trouble taking good photo's, so I only have some details to show. They are Portuguese stem stitches in perle 5.

Collage
This is the last week of Sharon's studio journal class, the remaining exercises will keep me busy for weeks! My first studio journal is almost filled and I already bought some new ones to keep me going. I made much more than I wanted to share here, but today I want to show the last 2 pages I made this week. My first collage was inspired by the daffodils in my garden. Lente is Dutch for spring. I'm still not done with my leaves, so I made a collage too.

Zentangle challenge #14
This week's zentangle challenge was called 'I Walk The Line' and you could only use straight lines. Most tangles I used are done with straight lines, but I made an Ixorus tangleation with rectangles in the lower left corner. The blue part is a crayon experiment. I coloured it before I made the drawing and ironed it between baking paper to set the colour.

Pink leaves
When I was working in my studio journal, my husband told me what he saw in my unfinished page. I just had to thread my needle! There's a bigger photo of this embroidery at my Flickr-page.

Scrumble garden
A purple page in my studio journal made me start this scrumble. I used knitting, crochet and Tunisian crochet. I attached the needle tatted flower with an embroidered button. There's some wire in the edge, so it keeps its shape. There's a better photo of it here.

Zentangled U
Last week I made a zentangled U ATC for Janine on one of my watercolour experiments. I used Printemps for the U and my new pattern wicker-work for the background.

Scrumble pillow
I finished my knitted scrumble pillow. The size is about 40 x 40 cm (16 x 16 inch). Now I can work on my new purple scrumble.

Kaleidoscope
Last week I played with a kaleidoscope program Sharon suggested in her studio journal class. I just had to try making kaleidoscopes of some of my creations. For the first one I used a button cluster on my CQ block. For the next one I used a photo of my dragon ornament. I added this one to my journal with a few notes what I could do with it.

Wicker-work
One of the exercises in my journal reminded me of a zentangle. I draw a quick doodle and worked it out later in my sketchbook. In the example I didn't draw the last step to leave some space between.

Colour your life
. . . was one of the exercises in the second week of Sharon's journal class. We were supposed to make 5 collages, but I couldn't stop and made 9! Green was the first one . . then orange

Watercolour
Time goes fast when you're having fun! I already started on the third week of Sharon's journal class, but there was no time to blog about the second week. These are my very first experiments with watercolour paint. I had some watercolour paper in my stash and I cut a sheet in different sizes: 2,5 and 3,5 inch squares and backgrounds for ATC's. I had no idea how the paint would behave, so I just jumped in. I used the 2,5 inch square for a zentangle.
