Ritva and Miriam had the
same theme for the fabric book page swap at Fibre Fever. Their theme was
traditional craft, which made me think about the
samplers little girls had to stitch. I visited an exhibition with lots of these
old samplers back in the 80’s. The book with samplers I bought then and the
borders for Randje per week were the inspiration for these samplers. The
scissor came from a sampler dated 1734, the butterfly was on a sampler dated
1873.
These samplers are amazing, such a lot of work! I have been meaning to stitch something with scissors as the main subject for my blog header but can't quite decide the best way yet! Barbara xx
The samplers look realy nice! I love the 'classic' birds!
