Old Chevron stitches

The TAST stitch for week 6 is the Chevron stitch. I used it last Sunday on an ATC and I share a photo of it when it has arrived (just put it in the mail today). Chevron stitch is one of the stitches I use frequently and I want to share a few examples before I start to stitch new Chevron experiments. The first one is a 4 x 6 inch sampler with 17 rows of Chevron stitches in different threads. I made it during Sharon’s PLOS class, it was fun to stitch!
This fish is part of the sampler I made for TAST 2007, it appeared when I was stitching some curved lines. My complete TAST 2007 sampler is here.
This experiment is part of my PLOS border sampler. It’s stitched with green perle 5 and yellow perle 12.
These rows of Chevron stitches are part of my PLOS sampler for week 5. I combined the Chevron stitch in perle 5 with a four legged knot stitch in perle 8.
I like this combo!
The last detail is a seam on my crazy ornament Chasing Butterflies. I added detached chain and straight stitches and attached the sequins with a bead.

  2. It's fun when things "appear" while you're stitching. The fish is a very good example.

  3. All your Chevron variations look very nice Annet! It is yet again another stitch I have never done before.

  4. I always love your work. Great work.

I was thinking of working a separate sampler for each stitch with different weights of threads and yarns. Now that I have seen yours, I find it very beautiful and helpful guide for future when we want to try this stitch on different types of fabrics. This sampler would be a ready reckoner.

  5. Well, you KNOW I always love all your stitching! My favorite here is the bottom one for its sweetness. The blue and brown one above it reminds me of fencing... just needs a sheep. The green and gold looks regal to me.

  7. Great examples. Isn't it fun to compare what we try now with what we did then? I like your CQ seam.
