ICAD

This year I’m participating in ICAD (IndexCard A Day) for the 5th time. There’s a weekly theme with daily prompts, which you can find at Daisy Yellow. I share my cards on my Facebook blog and Instagram on the day I create them and write a weekly post with more info on this blog.

These are my cards for the 4th week, the theme was maps, landscapes, geography or cartography.

The prompt for day 22 was anchor, which reminded me of the Anchor thread I received in a swap many years ago. I used it to cross stitch an anchor on part of a map. I decorated it with the fish stamps I made for Carve December.
Terrarium was the prompt for day 23. I knew I had a clipping of a dinosaur head in my stash and just had to use it.
Like many other participants to ICAD emerald, the prompt for day 24, reminded me of Emerald City in the land of Oz. I used a sparkly gel pen for parts of the houses in the city, which you can see on the short video here (just swipe the first photo to the left to see it).
The prompt for day 25 was cappuccino. I found an ice cappuccino clipping in a magazine and went from there.
Bougainvillea was the prompt for day 26. It’s easy to misread the last part, you can think it says village. So instead of drawing flowers, I drew an imaginary map.
Souvenir was the prompt for day 27. I had a map from our visit in Paris many many years ago and used a tiny part of that as a part of my one-staple-collage.
The last prompt for week 3 was wind chimes. Last week, while making collages I found one in a magazine and used it to make another collage.
Now it’s time to start the 5th week: drawing week.

ICAD

This year I’m participating in ICAD (IndexCard A Day) for the 5th time. There’s a weekly theme with daily prompts, which you can find at Daisy Yellow. I share my cards on my Facebook blog and Instagram on the day I create them and write a weekly post with more info on this blog.

These are my cards for the third week, the theme was collage, found & painted papers, old books & magazines.

The prompt for day 15 was dandelion. I knew I had a pretty clipping of dandelion fluff, so that was my starting point for this collage.
The clipping for day 16 with the prompt robot was also in my stash. The dog didn’t know what to think of it.
I used the prompt mustard yellow for day 17 for my found poetry background.
The prompt for day 18 was six word story, my previous card would have fitted nicely! But I made a completely different story for the viewer to discover.
Pause was the prompt for day 19. I think the people on my collage make great use of their pause.
The prompt for day 20 was birdhouse. I found several in a magazine, so it was not easy to just pick one.
I didn’t use the prompt for day 22, geode. So I just made a collage with clippings from my stash, which started with the right half of the face.
Now it’s time to start the 4th week. This morning I already started with today’s prompt.

ICAD

This year I’m participating in ICAD (IndexCard A Day) for the 5th time. There’s a weekly theme with daily prompts, which you can find at Daisy Yellow. I share my cards on my Facebook blog and Instagram on the day I create them and write a weekly post with more info on this blog.

These are my cards for the second week, the theme was mark-making & organic shapes. The prompt for day 8 was suzani pattern, a type of embroidery. It reminded me of 2 of my Carve December stamps. They made a nice pattern.
Bookshelf was the prompt for day 9. I just kept it very simple.
The prompt for day 10 was David Bowie. I knew I had some clippings with his photos in my stash. It was a great excuse to use my music stencil.
I don’t like tiramisu, which was the prompt for day 11. It made a nice card.
The prompt for day 12 (brocade) didn’t speak to me, so I just did some mark-making with markers, acrylic paint, fineliners, handcarved stamps and ink and decorate it with a dutch postage stamp.
Kite or rhombus was the prompt for day 13. Rhombus was a new word for me, it inspired me to a nice pattern with mark-making.
I enjoyed the previous card, so I made another one for day 14 with the prompt chamomile.
Now it’s time to start with the third week.

ICAD

These are the remaining cards for the first week, I shared the first one in my previous blogpost. The prompt for day 2 was marigold, which reminded me of my parents. Therefore I added the candles and the 47. A difficult card to make, because they both passed away this year. My mother in January and my father in April.
Found poetry for day 3 on a stamped background. I didn’t use the prompt.
Sequins was the prompt for day 4. I stitched sequin flowers on squares, which I cut from a mop up book page.
More memories this week, this is one of the 1980’s, the prompt for day 5. I used a photo from my wedding day.
This YouTube video helped me make a dreamcatcher for day 6. Luckily I had some feather sequins to decorate it.
I made a collage for day 7, the prompt was highway. I took the words apart and made a high way on top of a building.
Now it’s time to start with the second week.

I started with a warm up title card.
The prompt for day 1 was hopscotch. I just knew I wanted to make a collage, which started with the bended leg.
