Let it Loose journal

I finally finished my journal for Marit’s workshop Let it Loose. I turned my 10 journal pages into a book with a Japanese binding.
I decorated the cover with the trial mandala I made in Marit’s Mixed Emotions workshop.
I just had to add this charm to the binding!

ICAD week 2

This year I’m participating in ICAD, which stands for Index Card A Day. There’s a weekly theme with daily prompts. I managed to make a card each day, so I have 20 cards finished. You can find the theme and prompts for week 2 at Daisy Yellow.

My card for day 8 is a combo of drawing and collage.
I collaged a compass for day 9 on a background of acrylic paint.
A blue collage for day 10.
I know almost nothing about baseball, but remembered this part of the movie Rain Man. I just wrote the words on an acrylic background.
Childhood memories for day 12. Meneer de Uil (Dutch for Mister Owl) told children many stories about what happened in Het Grote Bos (Dutch for The big forest). You can see and hear him here.
Another collage for day 13.
And the last card for the second week. If you can read Dutch, maybe you can find the little joke.

Teesha Moore patches from Dawn & Jenny

From time to time I participate in a Teesha Moore inspired patch swap. I’m working on a new one now, but of course I cannot show it here before it has arrived at my swap partners home. But I found photos of patches I received and forgot to share on my blog. The first one is made by Dawn, it has lots of pretty buttons.
The second one is made by Jenny. The background is fleece.
They are a nice addition to my growing collection. One day they will be part of a quilt.

ICAD week 1

This year I’m participating in ICAD, which stands for Index Card A Day. There’s a weekly theme with daily prompts. I managed to make a card each day, so I have 13 cards finished. You can find the theme and prompts for week 1 at Daisy Yellow.

This journaling challenge started with a crochet hook and music tape!
And this was my very first card. I used this pattern to crochet FAME.
The prompt for day 2 took me back to the basisschool (school for 4-12 year old children) of my daughters! I wrote with my left non-dominant hand.
My card for day 3, I just liked this Snoopy pattern.
For day 4 I cut an old piece of a book report (which was typed on my old typewriter) in strips and used part of it to make a new story. The book report was about the Dutch book De Kleine Johannes by Frederik van Eden, a book I had to read for school exams, many, many years ago.
I made a collage for day 5. The Dutch proverb says: have your head in the clouds.
I didn’t have to think long about the list I wanted to make for day 6, but it wasn’t easy to pick only 10 stitches. If I had to make a list today, I’m sure it would be different!
And the last card for the first week. I drew circles and part of circles. Then I doodled before I added colour.
