Work In Progress Wednesday - October 29

This week I patched block 6 for my Crazy White quilt, the size is 8 x 8 inch.
Maybe you recognize the shadow work leaf in closed herringbone stitch which
I made in August. I wrote about it here. The lace on the left side is special to me,
I bought it at Museum De Kantfabriek. You can see how it’s made in this YouTube video, the lace at 1.20 is the same as the one on my block!
Work In Progress Wednesday is a support group to encourage people to complete languishing projects, Works In Slow Progress or UFO’s.

  3. Fascinating video clip! It must feel very special using a lace that you have seen being made by machine. You have placed the sadow worked leaf well in the centre.

    1. Thanks, Queenie. It was great to see how lace was made many years ago. I still remember the noise of those machines!

    1. Thanks, Margaret. When I stitched the leaf I already knew I wanted to use them in one of my white CQ blocks.

  6. Seeing your lovely lace being made is wonderful and the machines ...wow! What an invention.
I had missed your earlier posts re the shadow leaf and bunny and am excited by your finished items. I've done some Chikenkari but never anything like your leaf and bunny. I'm eager to try now.
