Spiked knotted cable chain on my garden sampler

TAST stitch 84 is spiked knotted cable chain. TAST stands for Take A Stitch Tuesday, a challenge at Pin Tangle.
It was the perfect stitch for the last part of my garden sampler. I stitched the spiked knotted cable chain like a buttonhole wheel with perle 8. I added a French knot in the centre with 4 threads of stranded floss. The buds are oyster stitches with perle 12 and fly stitches with YLI silk buttonhole twist. I used the same green for the leaves. They are raised close herringbone stitches, inspired by my TAST 2010 sampler.
Take a closer look at my spiked knotted cable chain flower here.

  1. So now how will you finish the garden sampler? To hang on the wall or a pillow or what??? Anxious to see. LOL

  2. A unique 'buttonhole wheel', so rich and beautiful, as are the buds and leaves. Will you start on another floral sampler after you have completed this one?
