Beaded Hedebo Edge

. . . is the third TAST stitch for 2010. It’s a nice stitch, it reminds me of the buttonholed herringbone stitch I tried last year on a crazy block. My first experiment of the beaded Hedebo edge is done with 2 threads of stranded yellow/orange DMC color variations. The left one with green 2mm beads and small stitches, but that was too small. Then I made bigger stitches at the right one with yellow 2,6 mm beads. This time the thread was too thin. Then I tried pink perle 5 with pink 2,6 mm beads. I made the stitches the same size as the second yellow/orange one and this time I was happy with the result. The last thread I used is DMC broder special with 2 mm beads. I made 2 opposite rows with stitches in a size between my first and second experiment. I really like this variation, I can see some bullion knots or larger beads in the space between the rows!

  1. These are beautiful stitches. Have you created any tangles based on your stitches? I've created one based on your last Hedebo stitch, but I don't want to post it if you've already got something similar.

  2. Thank you Molossus. I didn't make any tangles based on my stitches yet. But I tried to use the knotted loop stitch to make a tangle embroidery! It didn't work, but I keep trying with other stitches. I would love to see the tangles you created based on the stitches, so please post it!!

  3. Je bent er weer vlot bij Annet! Ik ben ook al een beetje aan het experimenteren, maar heb nog niets toonbaars klaar. De dubbele rijen zien er interessant uit, dat idee heeft zeker mogelijkheden.

  4. I like the color combo of the example with the green beads. I like that the last one has a cabled look to it, very nice.

  5. Clear that if, you do not worry .... they look like to me the pictures that you make so wonderful that I make connected in the near(next) embroidery to your blog. I wait not to have bothered very much, my intention was everything taught(showed) to my friends what I still have for learning until it(he,she) should come to your level. Besitos and good week

  6. I've posted a zen using the tangle I came up with. I don't think it's as nice as the actual stitching, but I think it could be used in intriguing ways.

I've also started a raffle. I'm giving away the journal I've been working on the last couple of months.
